Each week on Thursday nights, Clematis by Night transforms the area into an entertainment mecca. Expect to find nighttime, live entertainment at the historic Centennial Fountain. On Sundays at the Meyer, artists perform live at the area’s waterfront amphitheater. Downtown West Palm Beach has no shortage of options when it comes to great shopping and restaurants. CityPlace is also close to The Strand community, offering shoppers dozens of choices when it comes to retail and home décor. There are also several dining locations in the area. There is much to do in downtown West Palm Beach, including sampling some of the area’s cultural and artistic venues. The Norton Museum of Art is the largest art museum in the entire state of Florida. Meyer Amphitheater, meanwhile, hosts live concerts and other family-friendly entertainment throughout the year. The Kravis Center for the Performing Arts is the place to go for live theatre, music, opera and to view the ballet. When it comes to outdoor activities, the area of downtown West Palm Beach has many to offer. With the Intracoastal right at the doorsteps of The Strand, the areas best diving, fishing and boating locations are within minutes of your home. Lounge along one of the miles of white sandy beaches of the Atlantic Ocean. You will find great spots for fishing, diving and boating. Each year, the annual festival known as SunFest comes to downtown. It is a waterfront festival in the spring that brings in hundreds of thousands of people to the area. When you buy at home at The Strand, you have a front row seat to all the entertainment. Tourism, understandably, has a big influence on the area’s job market. Health care also brings in a number of jobs. Nearby hospitals and medical centers in the region of downtown West Palm Beach, include Good Samaritan Medical Center and Butler Medical Center. When it comes to education, The Strand community falls within the School District of Palm Beach County. The top-rated public school district is among the largest districts in the nation when it comes to enrollment numbers.
