The area features golf course living, with all of the added amenities that a country club allows.  The Grassy Waters Nature Preserve encircles the Ibis Golf and Country Club, giving the area a unique backdrop that is exclusive to this area.Herongate was the first custom-built community of estate homes within Ibis.  It continues to be a much sought after area to call home.  The established neighborhood includes 40 homes, all built by one of Ibis’s premiere builders. Life in Herongate puts you within easy walking distance to the Ibis Clubhouse, plus more than a dozen tennis courts, a pool and spa, and fitness center.  Ibis Golf and Country Club is best known, though, for its three championship golf courses. Herongate sits right in the middle of the Heritage course.  The 10^th, 11^th, 12^th and 18^th fairways surround the community.  The cul-de-sac also includes homes with incredible lake views. In all, there are 33 neighborhoods, including Herongate, which make up the Ibis Golf and Country Club.  Most are established communities. Herongate is located on the eastern edge of Ibis Golf & Country Club.  The area is just off the Florida Turnpike, near Ibis and Northlake Boulevards. This part of Palm Beach County also offers immediate access to I-95.

The homes of Herongate are distinctly Mediterranean, and sit on 1/3-acre lots.  The estates range in size from 3,500 square feet to more than 7,000 square feet. Expect homes on the lower end of the scale to have around three bedrooms and four baths, starting in the mid $600,000 range.  Many homes feature their own private pools, custom landscaping, gourmet kitchens with granite countertops and stainless steel appliances, and designer upgrades throughout. Several dining options are nearly at your doorstep when you choose a home in Herongate.  The Ibis Golf and Country Club includes four separate dining locations.  From sit-down meals, to casual dining, you will find what you are looking for within the club. Other dining and shopping locations are also nearby, including the Gardens Mall.  The area features a number of high-end retailers, including Bloomingdales and Nordstrom. Outside of the Herongate community, most outdoor recreational opportunities are just a short drive down the road.  Whether you are looking for a fantastic beach to lounge on, a place for boating, or a fishing location, you are sure to find it within 20 minutes of Ibis.

Downtown West Palm Beach is also an easy drive away, where you can experience the breathtaking waterfront or one of the many art destinations and museums. The Village of Wellington, and its fantastic equestrian facilities, is also just about a 20 minute drive from Ibis. As for the job market, unemployment in this area of Palm Beach County hovers around seven percent. When it comes to healthcare, the options are plentiful.  A short drive will lead you to Columbia Hospital, Bethesda Memorial Hospital or Good Samaritan Medical Center. The community of Ibis Golf and Country Club is within the boundaries of the School District of Palm Beach County.  The A-rated district includes Pierce Hammock Elementary School, Seminole Ridge High School, and Western Pines Middle School.  All three locations are near the Herongate neighborhood. Parents may also send their children to one of the many private schools in the area, as well as one of the handful of college and university campuses located in West Palm Beach.
